The Hosting of Therapeutic Grief Support Groups
“Lost & Found Grief Center is very appreciative of the partnership between our organization and The Hulston Family Foundation. Thanks to your funding, we are able to cover the cost of one grief support group for an entire year. There is power in the group model, and the Hulston Family’s belief in our mission allows us to continue to make a difference to families throughout central and southwest Missouri so that they may work through their grief and find peace within their new normal.”
Emily Givens, Executive Director
The Lost and Found Grief Center improve lives by providing help, hope and healing through professional grief support. Serving 25 counties across southwest Missouri in the past 20 years, Lost and Found works with children, young adults, parents and spouses who are experiencing unimaginable grief.
In mid 2020, the Hulston Family Foundation awarded Lost and Found with a grant designated to financially supporting one of their grief groups for an entire year. This grant allocated for the expenses of a professional counselor, meeting supplies and overhead costs such as rent and utility costs.
With support from the Hulston Family Foundation, Lost and Found is now able to offer another therapeutic grief support group which acts as a confidential safe environment where members are able to talk about feelings, learn coping skills and find hope for the future.
Since running this grief group, 99% of participants said they were highly satisfied with the professionalism of the staff and 89% indicated that they were highly satisfied with the hope the grief support groups provided them with. With the help of the Hulston Family Foundation, Lost and Found has successfully served hundreds of individuals in the state of Missouri.
